UFN 24 weigh-in: Davis looks to unseat ‘Lil’ Nog’

Steve Cofield

Is tomorrow night going to be a case of deja-vu?

Jon Jones mauled Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. It was a tale of the young lion tearing apart a veteran. Phil Davis tries to do the same tomorrow at Ultimate Fight Night 24 against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Today during the UFN 24 weigh-in at Key Arena in Seattle, we got a final look at the main event fighters. Along with the other 22 combatants on the card, both made weight.

Davis was standing on the stage with some legends. "Lil' Nog" was joined at the scale by his brother Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva.

If it goes to the ground,  Nogueira said he'll submit Davis or he'll knock him out on the feet.

It looks like a KO is certainly in the cards for Dan Hardy or Anthony Johnson. Johnson, who often has difficulty making the welterweight limit, came in at 171 as did Hardy. Going forehead-to-forehead, they had a spirited staredown.

Leonard Garcia and Chan Sung Jung should provide similar fireworks. This is a rematch of what many folks considered the Fight of the Decade back at WEC 48. Garcia came to the stage wearing some sort of alien head a zombie head apparently from a children's video game - Plants vs. Zombies.

There are also heavyweights on the card. A pair of 6-foot-7 monsters, Christian Morecraft and Sean McCorkle, both came in at the limit, at 265 and 266 respectively.
