While the rest of Las Vegas is struggling fill their buildings this weekend, the MGM Grand Garden Arena was jammed for the UFC 94 weigh-in. A crowd of near 5,000 filed in by 3:30 for the 4 o'clock weigh-in. Hundreds more were turned away as the arena doors were closed at 3:45 p.m.
B.J. Penn came in slightly under the welterweight limit at 168 pounds. Both main event fighters, Penn and Georges St. Pierre, were short on words in speaking to Joe Rogan on stage. Akihiro Gono, wearing a huge fake afro wig, was the comic of the afternoon. Jon Jones, in just his second UFC fight, got right in the face of Stephan Bonnar. But Nate Diaz pulled the most disrespectful move of the weigh-in by putting his elbow right in Clay Guida's face (pictured on the right). Guida dealt with it, without flipping out.
