Featherweight Mackens Semerzier shocked MMA fans with a triangle choke of Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 44 and was out to prove tonight that win wasn't a fluke. Unfortunately for him, that didn't translate well in the cage, as he was dominated by Deividas Taurosevicius in a 29-28 unanimous decision to start the televised portion of WEC 46.
Taurosevicius controlled the first round with strong grappling. He survived Semerzier's guillotine attempts, drove in for takedowns and twice slammed Semerzier to the mat. This carried into the second round, with Taurosevicius controlling the pace of the match.
In the third round, Semerzier finally came to life and tried a kimura and guillotine, but Taurosevicius calmly escaped both submission attempts.
