Tim Sylvia, who seemed to be on the cusp of ending his MMA career, came back with a vengeance at Adrenaline IV in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday night. The former UFC heavyweight champion knocked out Jason Riley 2:32 into the first round.

After knocking Riley around in the clinch, Sylvia landed a few jabs before knocking Riley to the ground with a huge uppercut. After the win, Sylvia said that he isn't sure where he will fight next, but he will not fight in November because it's hunting season.

Sylvia looked much better than in his quick loss to Ray Mercer, but he admitted that he still has weight to lose.

Houston Alexander, currently taking a break from his UFC contract, didn't spend much time in the cage. He weakened Sherman Pendergarst with a series of leg kicks, so much so that Pendergarst was limping by the time Alexander knocked Pendergarst down with a knee. Alexander finished him on the ground, winning by TKO in 1:46.

Afterwards, Alexander seemed sure that he would be fighting in the UFC again soon.

"I am one of the top fighters in the light heavyweight division," Alexander said.

Well, not exactly. The fighter he beat had five losses in a row heading into this bout, including one to "The Ultimate Fighter's" blood-leaking loser from Wednesday, Abe Wagner.

Though the UFC veterans on the card provided fireworks, Joe Vedepo had the most impressive knockout of the evening. He took out Webster Farris with a punishing right in just 14 seconds.

In other action, Alonzo Martinez won over Ryan Williams with a unanimous decision, and Jeremy Lang pulled out a split decision over Matt Delanoit.
