Former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin had to pull out of his scheduled bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira because of a reported shoulder injury. With just four weeks until the bout, the UFC called in Jason Brilz to take his spot.

Griffin has wins over Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, and losses to Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans. Brilz has wins over Tim Boetsch and Eric Schafer, and his only UFC loss is to Eliot Marshall.

Sure, Brilz's record isn't quite as impressive as Griffin's, but the guy still deserves credit for taking on the bout on short notice, especially since his last bout was in late March at the UFC on Versus 1.

As it stands now, UFC 114's pay-per-view line-up is top heavy with Evans and Jackson finally fighting in the main event. The other bouts guaranteed to make the PPV broadcast are Michael Bisping vs. Dan Miller, Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow, and John Hathaway vs. Diego Sanchez. Dong Hyun Kim will face Amir Sadollah, and Efrain Escudero will take on Dan Lauzon on the preliminary fights that will air on Spike.
