Ronda Rousey responds to Marine who asked her to Marine Corps Ball

They say if you’re looking for a date, your best bet is to ask 100 girls out because even if 99 say no, all you need is that special one to say yes.

For U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Jarrod Haschert, he skipped that whole ’99’ thing and went straight for the gold – so to speak.

Haschert went viral last week when a video of him was shared via social media asking UFC champion Ronda Rousey to his annual Marine Corps Ball later this winter.

It was a gutsy move on behalf of the active-duty soldier, but what else would you expect from a Marine?

Haschert needs to find his Rolodex (do people still use those?) immediately, because, well, the young man is about to get a number he doesn’t want to lose.

"I just saw it the other day,” Rousey admitted to TMZ in a recent interview about the viral proposal. “I saw screenshots of it before and I was like, 'Oh, I can't go anyway because I'm in camp,' but the fight got moved and I actually can go, but I don't know how to hit him up and say like, 'Yeah, I wanna go with you.'

"I would go, for sure. But do I call him, do I set up a time and place like 'Never Been Kissed' and just show up there?”

Rousey was supposed to fight Holly Holm in January but the fight was just recently moved to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, on Nov. 15. The Marine Corps Ball is on Dec. 11, so Rousey’s schedule is now clear.

Well, as clear as an undefeated champ with a blossoming Hollywood career could possibly be, anyway.

With all attention turned to Rousey and her internet suitor, a future meeting seems like a forgone conclusion. And if Haschert decides to snuggle up too close to “Rowdy,” he better check his arms.

Then again, it sounds like he’s off to a better start than everyone else who’s trying to date the superstar athlete/entertainer.

“He’s cute,” Rousey said. He’s gotta be a gentleman [though], I’m not a first-date kind of a girl.”
