'King Mo' prepares for his toughest foe yet: EA Sports video game

Cagewriter

Mo Lawal has faced some of the world's best wrestlers, trained with (and been tapped out by) boxer James Toney, and fought Gegard Mousasi. But now, he has to get ready to face an incredibly tough opponent.

The computer in the new, yet-to-be-released EA Sports MMA video game.

Lawal has already shown his prowess in the EA video game when he beat friend-of-Cagewriter, Ben Fowlkes, in a best-of-three match, but the computer is quite the jump in competition from Fowlkes.

It was also announced that EA Sports will have "live broadcast." Since I know nothing about video games, I'll let Middle Easy explain:

In short, you will be able to create your own fighter, place your face on the fighter and be able to broadcast your fights live while real commentators (Frank Shamrock, Mauro Renallo...etc) comment on your fight in real time. You will also be able to create hype videos (James Toney style) to give to your opponents. EA also announced that you will be able to fight for real prizes including signed memorabilia, EA merchandise...etc.

Yep, even for the gaming-challenged, that sounds awesome. EA also let the news slip that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko will be on the cover of the game. When Couture was holding out from the UFC, the Randy-Fedor match-up was the dream for all fight fans. Though we won't get to see it in real life, EA wants to help MMA fans make this fight happen.
