The UFC has understandably been pretty insistent over the years that its fighters not reveal that they've signed on for a bout to the media until the promotion itself announces a match. In recent weeks, it may have been the UFC brass who may have learned not to discuss contests until things were absolutely set in stone.
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was reportedly first set to face Glover Teixeira at UFC 169, then at UFC 170 until Dana White announced that the match up was not happening then either because Jones had pulled out.
White said Jones was not injured then it turned out that the champ was indeed still smarting after his rough title defense against Alexander Gustafsson in September. Now, finally, it appears as if the UFC has a date set for Jones vs. Teixeira that would accommodate "Bones'" rest schedule that won't have him back in the gym until the new year.
According to UFC Tonight, the pair will finally meet in Dallas on March 15 at UFC 171. Who do you think will take this one?
More importantly, do you think this fight will actually happen? Let us know in the comments section.
