Back in March, we missed out on what would've been one of the best lead ups to any fight in 2010. John Howard and Anthony Johnson were going at it on Twitter and nearly came to blows while both attending UFC 108 in Las Vegas. Then Johnson had to pull out of UFC on Versus 1 when he injured his knee and got surgery.
In shape, Johnson has the look of an NFL receiver. He walks around at roughly 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds. But he's also a guy who has had chronic issues making the 170 limit. Twenty-five pounds is tough to take off especially if you wait until the final two weeks before the fight.
It got so bad on the Friday before UFC 104, that Johnson collapsed and had to be carried through the streets of Los Angeles back to his hotel. A few hours later, he still missed the weight badly.
Well, you can only imagine what knee surgery has done to the big fella. As you can see on last week's "Inside the MMA," he may have put on a little extra weight.
Now fans are starting to worry about the Howard-Johnson fight ever happening.
Howard is only 5-foot-7 but he admits that he walks around right near 200 pounds. The fight might have to be at middleweight but AJ looks like he's got a ways to go before he can even get to 185.
