Girls just wanna have fun
It was quite the weekend for galpals Kim Couture and Gina Carano. Couture destroyed Lina Kvokov for her first career win while Carano spoke publicly for the first time about the World Extreme Cagefighting rumors.
Couture buried the overmatched Kvokov using a mix of effective punching and a solid thai clinch. 'Sugarfree' says here that she was disappointed that Kvokov didn't want to throw with her. Give Randy's wife credit, she had her jaw broken in her debut and still wanted to bang.
Carano was pleased as punch to speak with Ariel Helwani from MMARated. Clearly she wants to be free from her EliteXC deal. Somehow Scott Smith, a former EliteXC fighter, made his way to Friday's Strikeforce card.
Carano broke from her normal 'play it close to vest' approach and said she was annoyed that EliteXC is stalling her career. Carano did address the infamous photos with Tonya Evinger saying she had a great time that weekend and that eventually she'll drop the worm on Helwani. But towards the end of the discussion things got icy when Helwani asked the same question three times and was chastised.
