Donald Cerrone tweaks Reebok/UFC with show of support for Nike
Earlier this month UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone reavaled he was hit with a hefty fine from the UFC over a Reebok uniform violation. The fine, which Cerrone referred to as ‘ludicrous’ was a large one apparently.
“Cowboy” accepted the penalty for the minor infraction (a small American flag stitched on the inside of his fight shorts) but challenged Reebok to match the fine, and donate the money to a military charity.
According to Cerrone, he never received a response for his gesture, so the issue was dropped.
Or at least we thought.
Today, the 32-year-old contender sent out a message on social media to his favorite MMA apparel brand:
Sure love the way my @nike shoes and shorts fit! So many different styles & color options!!… https://t.co/kWgxk57YNh

The Internet, being the wonderful bastion of entertainment that it is, immediately went to meme-city with Cowboy’s prodding post:

Surely the UFC and Reebok aren’t too pleased with one of their most popular fighters being so defiant mere months into a seven-year partnership. But if Dana White and the UFC come knocking on Cerrone’s door looking for an explanation or apology, he can just whip this gem out.
