Diego Brandao: 'No one is afraid of Conor McGregor'

UFC star Conor McGregor insists that no other featherweight in the world is eager to fight him. Diego Brandao, his UFC Fight Night main event opponent Saturday night in Dublin, told reporters this week that he's not buying the hype.

"I don’t think any guy is afraid to fight Conor. Come on, bro. Nobody is afraid of you,” he said.

The Brazilian is coming off of a loss but promises that he is capable of stopping or going the distance with the "Notorious" one.

“He’s only talked trash until now,” Brandao said.

“But that doesn’t affect me. I remain focused and positive. I have all the skills needed to submit him or knock him out. I’ll press him for all five rounds, looking for victory."

As for fighting in McGregor's home town, Brandao said he isn't daunted by being in enemy territory. “I’ve been fighting internationally for a while, so this is nothing new," he said.

"I don’t want to go in there and knock him out in the first round. That would be no fun for me. I want to go in there and punch until somebody breaks.”
