Chan Sung Jung injured, forced out of Oct. 4 UFC fight

"The Korean Zombie," Chan Sung Jung (13-4) has not fought for a year because of injuries and will now miss even more time after reportedly pulling out of his Oct. 4 UFC fight against Akira Corassani (12-4). The top featherweight dislocated his shoulder last year during his UFC 163 title fight against champion Jose Aldo, and has re-injured the same shoulder, forcing him to withdraw from his return bout.

Jung's manager, Brian Rhee, told MMA Fighting that the fighter will need about a month of physical rehab to recover."Yes, unfortunately, [Jung] strained the shoulder that he dislocated in the Aldo fight," Rhee said.

"No structural damage, he just has to do rehab for four weeks, then the doctors will reevaluate."

Before his loss to Aldo a year ago, Jung had won three straight fights by finish, to rise to the top of the 145 pound division. We'll keep you posted on news of Jung's eventual return, as it develops.
