The Wanderlei Silva vs. Chael Sonnen show, otherwise known as the UFC's latest version of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, premiered Sunday on Fight Pass after weeks of teasing a real brawl, caught on tape, between the two coaches this season. According to Sonnen and UFC president Dana White, that fight with Silva that was teased in promos for the show was just one of many confrontations between the pair of rivals, who are set to face each other in an actual sanctioned bout this spring.
"As far as the incident with Wanderlei, there were many incidents," Sonnen told Dave Meltzer in a recent interview.
"One of them has garnered more attention than the others. The guy was a complete struggle on a daily basis to work alongside."
We have no idea why Sonnen would expect it would be easy to work alongside Silva after years of taunting the former Pride champion, his native country and friends but it certainly sounds like there's plenty of action between the two coming up throughout this TUF: Brazil season.
Meltzer quoted White also saying as much. "We have a treasure chest of [expletive] from this show," White told Meltzer in a text message.
