Only, newspapers everywhere aren't what they used to be, as new Chicago Cubs right-hander Matt Garza(notes) is finding out. When the Chicago Sun-Times reported the news of Garza's arrival Saturday morning, "The Bright One" used a picture of another person who pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010, Joaquin Benoit(notes).
Dave Wills, one of the Rays' broadcasters and a native of Chicago, noticed the boo-boo and informed the St. Petersburg Times, who blew the whistle. The online version of the Sun-Times story — at least the one I read — had Garza's actual photo accompanying it.
