Radio isn't just for listening anymore. Some of it has also become TV programming, unfortunately so for host Mike Francesa of WFAN-AM. Thanks to a simulcast on the YES Network, not only can fans hear the wonderful things Francesa has to say on his talk show, they also can see them. Sometimes, we can see them fall asleep on the air as a Yankees reporter earnestly updates everyone on the state of the Bronx Bombers.
Everyone, that is, except Francesa. At first, he appears to be dutifully reading something, perhaps notes that will help him engage, or even rebut, reporter Sweeny Murti. But then, it becomes obvious that his head is going lower for another reason:
Everybody knows the Yankees are fading, but it shouldn't be affecting the media second-hand. This never would have happened if Chris Russo were still in the same studio.
In case you're not familiar with Francesa, he's the guy who never has heard of Tigers right-hander Al Alburquerque.
Big BLS H/N: Deadspin.
