Nothing breaks up the monotony of a Major League Baseball season like a representative from a sporting goods company stopping by the clubhouse.
When the man from Nike (for example) appears, major leaguers swarm him to see what new goodies he has brought them. Batting gloves, shoes, sunglasses — every imaginable accessory — the players are always interested.
But in some cities, even bigger traveling salesmen/rock stars stop by the ballpark: The guys who customize cars.
In a video diary below, a representative from MC Customs in Miami narrates a recent delivery to Sun Life Stadium, where he and the fellas dropped off Edward Mujica's customized Camaro. It's quite an attraction for his teammates, who include Omar Infante, Hanley Ramirez, Gaby Sanchez and Leo Nuñez.
"They love when we roll up."
"We got Leo Nuñez's Escalade. (Emilio) Bonifacio's GMC. Infante's (Mercedes) GL. ... We did this Jeep, too, (Carlos) Zambrano's Jeep."
On its YouTube channel, MC Customs says it services big names such as: Felix Hernandez, Aroldis Chapman, Francisco Cordero, Jose Valverde, Francisco Liriano, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Guillen, Raul Ibañez and Zambrano. At least a dozen more, just by these videos alone, have done business with MC Custom.
Daniel Cabrera is 6-foot-7 and drives a Maserati? So that's where Peter Angelos' money has been going.
Just as impressive is the "Cribs"/"Pimp My Ride" style look at Felix Hernandez's "Cy Young Edition" Range Rover. It is automobile porn at its sauciest: {YSP:MORE}
Oh, the rims with the King Felix crowns — nice touch. The one thing I don't understand is taking up all of that storage space with sub-woofers. What if you make a big trip to the grocery store, or Menards? Where do you put all your stuff?
Oh, rich people problems.
