It's not secret that Troy Tulowitzki has gotten off to a poor start in the field. The Colorado Rockies shortstop committed two errors on Tuesday night and already has the same amount of miscues in 11 games (six) as the total he recorded in his Gold Glove season of 2011.
Tulo's night at the plate during Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Padres didn't start so hot, either. Watch what happens as he chops an Anthony Bass pitch off home plate and into foul territory, then does nothing:
OK, so maybe it's not the most earth-shattering highlight, but I embed it here because 1) it seems indicative of Tulo's frustrating start and 2) the Padres were just the victims of some home plate fair/foul drama when Dale Scott jobbed them into that rare triple play on Sunday. Perhaps this doesn't quite reinstate their karmic balance since it was only one out (compared to three), but if two more mix-ups occur we're talking about equilibrium again.
Funny how baseball can sometimes work like that.
