1. It's always nice to wake up to see an email in your inbox from Dan Steinberg.
Especially when he sent it from Beijing and includes this update: "USA baseball just won a game that lasted almost seven hours and included two lengthy rain delays, an official rules protest, talk of protesting the protest and a final audience of maybe 30, about half of whom were related to U.S. players." Steinz's extended riff on the scene is worth the click. [DC Sports Smog]
2. This isn't a baseball link, but if you're not reading Dan regularly through these games, you should be. Just click on the link and keep scrolling. That should entertain you up to
5 p.m. noon on Friday, when you'll stop pretending to work for the week deck out early for the weekend. [D.C. Sports Smog]
3. Forbes.com uses a fancy regression analysis comparing the correlation between number of wins and attendance to determine the most loyal fans in baseball. Surprisingly, Rangers fans take the top spot, even though I've never met a Rangers fan in my life and I'm doubting you have either. Angels fans, go to your room! You're the most disloyal fans in baseball (at least according to this study.) [Forbes]
