A San Francisco Giants fan who dropped a foul ball at AT&T Park on Monday night instantly turned from glum to gleeful after two sugar daddies in the sky helped him out.
The middle-aged gentleman decked himself out in Giants gear — a cap and jacket — and even wore a glove in case flying objects approached him from his vantage in the second deck on the third-base side of home plate. The fan appeared to be in perfect position to catch a foul ball hit by San Francisco's Brandon Crawford in the eighth inning when disaster struck and he ... dropped the ball into the deck below.
[Stadium groans.]
Giants' TV broadcasters Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow saw the drop happen and they took pity on the fan, so they arranged for a special little delivery.

They sent him a baseball, aww! It's like when Merlin Olsen would send you a Pick-Me-Up Bouquet of flowers!

It was good. Not only do those guys make for probably the best broadcast team in the majors, they're even keeping an eye on the fans who can't hear them call a game. That's attention to detail.

And unprecedented kindness, at least going back to when Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall called games for the White Sox and would buy fans Budweiser from the booth.
