If you think about it, a weekend of watching baseball is a lot like a weekend of watching golf.
Both sports work on plenty of grass and at their own pace. Both feature athletes hitting balls for distances we can only dream about. Both are excellent ways to waste a weekend on the couch with a lazy breeze and plenty of yard work calling from outside the window.
Also: You can fall asleep for a few minutes while watching either and still feel like you haven't really missed anything. If you did, TiVo has long since provided you a solution for each dozed-through putt or bases-clearing triple.
Anyway, in celebration of those similarities and today's opening of the Masters, I've scoured the AP photo archives for examples of our favorite old ballplayers doing what they do best — pretending to know what they're doing while out on the golf course*.
Follow the jump for a super collage of our golfing Diamond Kings. (Yes, there's another super-fantastic picture of the Big Unit, though without the Big Bertha.)
