Red Sox fans Cody Anderson and Shannon Armitage were married Friday morning at Fenway Park. (@jacody4)

Cody Anderson and Shannon Armitage met on Twitter two and a half years ago, bonded through their mutual love for the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox official Twitter account had given Armitage a shout out on her birthday. Anderson noticed the tweet, noticed her and soon made his move.

Twitter turned into texting, texting turned into dating, dating turned into Shannon moving nearly 1,200 miles from Massachusetts to Illinois to live with Cody. On Friday morning, the couple tied the knot, and they did it at Fenway Park, because what other place could be more perfect? After all, the Red Sox Twitter account basically introduced the two of them.

The Red Sox are getting their World Series rings at Friday afternoon's game, so the couple coined their day a #DoubleRingCeremony and, of course, sent out a number of tweets and selfies from their wedding day.

We'll let them and their tweets tell the rest of the story:

Of course, they stayed for the game.

Opening day at Fenway Park should be a heck of a wedding reception. Their first dance pretty much has to be "Sweet Caroline," right?
