10:45 ET — With Philadelphia on the brink of its first sports title in 25 years, sheets of rain have descended upon Citizens Bank Park, delaying Game 5 of the World Series with the Phillies and Rays tied at two in the middle of the sixth inning. Though Major League Baseball is obviously trying to get this game in at any cost, the infield has become simply unplayable and the tarp is now on the field. We're going to be in a holding pattern for awhile, though the weather outlook does not look good.

Stay tuned to the Stew for updates, but I'll leave you for now with some food for thought. Maybe that old joke about God being a Dallas Cowboys fan — and thereby not a pal of Philadelphia — really is true?

11:14 — It's official. Game is suspended for tonight. No word yet on when it will resume on Tuesday.

11:20 — They just announced the news to what was left of the crowd plus the detail that the earliest the game will resume is at 8 p.m. Tuesday night.
