Padres minor leaguer Cody Decker guests as sports anchor, calls own highlight (Video)

Even though he's not a big leaguer yet, San Diego Padres minor-leaguer Cody Decker has already proven himself to be one of the more entertaining players in baseball. Decker, who currently plays for the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas, was the man behind the now-famous Jeff Francoeur prank video.

Decker makes films that he shares on his YouTube channel, has a pretty funny Twitter account and, as he proved Sunday night, can anchor the sports segment on the local news. He joined El Paso's KTSM-TV in a bow tie and sunglasses, looking like Bradley Cooper in "The Hangover." Decker gave viewers the sports and weather reports. Part of that was calling his own team's highlight and, of course, praising himself.

Anytime a ballplayer makes a Corey Hart reference — the "Sunglasses at Night" guy, not the Seattle Mariner — we're in.

The Chihuahuas are playing their first season in El Paso. They were previously the Tucson Padres, but now Decker has an entirely new fan base to which he can endear himself. But, heck, these El Paso newscasters better watch out. Decker might just steal someone's job.

If you're looking for more entertainment from Decker, we suggest his short film titled "Brad," a tribute to Brad Ausmus.
