It's well established that Miguel Cabrera is a darn fine player, who can hit baseballs better than anyone else in the league. He can hit homers, hit for average, drive in runs. He can amass a ridiculous on-base percentage. But it appears we've found the flaw in his offensive game.
While running the bases, he can't step perfectly onto third base every single time without falling.
Just watch the video above of Miggy taking third base on a fielder's choice during Thursday's Detroit Tigers-Cleveland Indians game. Look at him fall. Marvel at the rare moment when you can do something on a baseball field better than Miguel Cabrera.
After the fall, Miggy gets a razzing from his teammates. He even gets laughed at by a child in the stands. You tell him, Indians kid. But wait, what's that? Is Cabrera tipping his hat once he gets up? Basically telling us, "Go ahead, laugh at me. I fell. It was funny."
Ah darn, now we've got to issue a correction — Miguel Cabrera IS good at everything. Even embarrassing himself.
