Manny Ramirez slides 15 feet short of second base trying to break up double play (or something)

Need a pick-me-up on another monotonous Monday? Check out the progress of Manny Ramirez as he plays ball in Taiwan:

And then he gets high-fives from the bench! Not for the slide, which coincided with a botched double play, but just for being there.

It's just Manny being Manny, 45-50 feet at a time. Love that his team is playing the '79 Pittsburgh Pirates, too. It's all good for a laugh.

The most forgiving angle in the replays comes from behind the second-base bag. That perspective makes it seem like Manny pulled up just short. The best part of these Manny highlights continues to be the announcers getting so excited while (presumably) speaking Taiwanese Mandarin.

The slide aside, he's not doing too poorly on the overseas leader board:

A .347 batting average, five home runs, eight doubles ... hey, that's Manny being pretty good for being on the verge of 41 years old. He's also appearing to have fun over there, pretending to be The Hulk and stuff.

The major leagues just aren't as fun without him. Can we please bring Manny back to the U.S.?
