Fun fact of the day: Royals haven’t lost in the ‘Prince George’ era

The Kansas City Royals have benefited from some odd good luck charms this season — barbecue sauce, anyone?

But has the team's current nine-game win streak been fueled by the most Royal good luck charm possible? Consider this fun fact: The Royals haven't lost since the world met Prince George of Cambridge, the royal baby born to Prince William and Kate Middleton.

George was born on July 22, which is actually the last time the Royals lost a game. We didn't know the baby's name immediately, but once he was announced as Prince George, the Royals have been on fire.

Our theory? The combination of a Royal baby and that baby then being named George — you know, as in Royals legend George Brett — created a galactic force so powerful that the Royals can't lose.

Now, these Royals with the nine-game winning streak go to New York to play the Mets for three games, hoping to keep the streak alive. But why wouldn't they?

At this rate, folks, the Royals aren't going to lose for years upon, seemingly until the Royal Baby Galactic Force gets tired of baseball and takes up cricket instead.

Baseball season's in full swing. Don't miss a thing.
