Eddie Vedder throws out first pitch (and sings) at Cubs game

Big League Stew

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam loves baseball, possibly as much as he does music. A native of Illinois, he's a Chicago Cubs fan. He comes to their games frequently. He writes songs about them. He is said to keep score at ballgames. It doesn't even have to be the Cubs for Vedder to get into baseball. He'll even lead a cheer for Raul Ibañez at a concert in Philly:

So it comes without surprise that Vedder threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field on Thursday night, and later sang Take Me Out To The Ball Game while accompanied by his niece and nephew. The best part is the end when — with the Cubs trailing the San Diego Padres by 12 — Vedder goes:

"Let's get 20 runs!"

And then he throws his arms up.

Did the Cubs get 20 runs? No, they did not. Hey, can you imagine having Eddie Vedder as your uncle? Also, see what this guy here did?

Also: good Ron Santo shirt worn by Vedder earlier.
