Sunday night's NLDS Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves turned into an offensive slugfest. By the end of the fourth inning, the score was 10-4, with the Dodgers ahead. Both starting pitchers had been chased from the game (in the third inning, actually) and the two teams had combined for 17 hits.
The game swung heavily in the Dodgers favor in the fourth inning, when they put four runs on the board thanks to a Hanley Ramirez triple, a Yasiel Puig single and a Juan Uribe two-run homer. That turned a 6-4 game into a 10-4 game.
Feeling pretty good about their six-run lead, Dodgers fans decided to rub it in a little bit. They started mocking the Braves (and Braves fans, really) by doing the tomahawk chop.
Given that the first two games of this series were played in Atlanta and anybody watching on TV was tomahawk chopped-out, it makes sense Dodgers fans would start chopping sarcastically. Plus we've seen from the Pirates how rattling the opposition can help.
But Dodgers fans might want to be careful. Sheriff McCann is in town and on the prowl.
