It's back! 'Duk's Dozen is a heaping morning serving of baseball items, links and takes — designed to keep you warm all offseason long.

1. Friday night will mark two full days since Wilson Ramos was kidnapped in his native Venezuela and as of Friday morning there had still been no contact from his abductors. A large-scale investigation has been launched; let's continue to hope and pray that it leads to Wilson's safe return. Washington Post

2. The Post's Juan Forero reports that there were 895 reported kidnappings in Venezuela in 2010 and that hauling down ransoms has become a lucrative business. One source estimates that Ramos' abductors could demand as much as $10 million to $20 million. Considering that Ramos only made $415,000 as a rookie last season, I'm not sure where they think that money is possibly going to come from.  WaPo

3. Derek meets A-Rod, Part II? We could have another high-profile shortstop conflict if Jose Reyes signs with the Miami Marlins, but Hanley Ramirez says he has no problem — he looks forward to it, in fact — sharing an infield at the new ballpark. MLB.com

4. The Marlins are unveiling their new uniforms Friday — likely just a confirmation of the weird South Beach art deco look we've seen all over the place. The new merchandise will then immediately begin its march toward the discount rack at several area stores. Sun Sentinel

5. Grant Brisbee looks at the deals that have already been handed out this hot stove season and concludes it's a good time to be a free agent. Writes Brisbee: "Willie Bloomquist was the final piece of evidence. Dude got a two-year deal to keep him away from other teams. He's the free-agent canary in the marketplace coal mine — this market is about to go insane." SB Nation

6. What was your best day in baseball? That's the question that my pal Sam Mellinger asked to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Buck O'Neil's birth, which falls on Sunday. Kansas City Star {YSP:MORE}

7. The possibility of him playing overseas hasn't gotten past the rumor stage, but Japanese baseball has apparently already had enough of Manny Ramirez. Hall of Very Good

8. Hey, it isn't just us Chicago homers putting together Ron Santo HOF cases. NY Times

9. Joe Torre says Jorge Posada is worthy of a spot in Cooperstown. NYDN

10. Thursday was the one-year anniversary of Dave Niehaus' death. Lookout Landing

11. After years of trade rumors, Jonathan Sanchez sounds fairly relieved that the hammer finally dropped on him in San Francisco. "I saw it coming," he says. The Splash

12. Just when I started to get really comfortable with ERA+, Dave Cameron switches it all up and starts talking about ERA- in his free-agent evaluation of Mark Buehrle. It might be time to page Alex Remington for another round of metric primers. FanGraphs
