Curt Schilling has been fairly secretive about his battle with cancer. But news this good, he had to share — Schilling, 47, told the world Wednesday that he's in remission.

Schilling announced in February that he had cancer, though he didn't share too many details. We don't know what type of cancer or what his prognosis was upon its discovery. Regardless, it's good to hear that Schilling's chemotherapy and radiation worked.

Late last month, Schilling appeared at Fenway Park for the reunion of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. He looked much slimmer, but pretty good, all things considered.

Schilling is best known for his days on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox. Most recently, he'd been an MLB analyst for ESPN.
