BOSTON — Bad news, America.
Apparently the Boston Red Sox's beards are contagious. Carlton Fisk — he of the legendary Game 6 homer circa 1975 — was summoned to Fenway Park on Wednesday to toss out the first pitch, it being a Game 6 and all.
He arrived sans beard, but something happened by the time he took the field with fellow 1975 hero Luis Tiant. Fisk magically had a foot's worth of hair hanging from his face.
We double-checked, it wasn't Mike Napoli. It was indeed Carlton Fisk. See. Look.
Oh, that's a fake beard? Phew. For a second there, we thought maybe if the Red Sox won this thing, we'd' all wake up with beards, like this was a "Contagion" situation.
