It's been said before and it'll be said again: One of the reasons that baseball is so great that you can see a spectacular play at any time, even if it's from an awful team that has already racked up 100 losses this season. That was the case on Thursday as Houston center fielder Brandon Barnes made an unbelievable when he dove to rob St. Louis' Jon Jay of extra bases:
While it would have been nice to note that this play contributed to a rare 'Stros win in their last game at Busch Stadium as a National League opponent, that didn't end up being the case. The Cardinals walked away with a 5-4 victory that closed a sweep and drove Houston's 2012 loss total to 102 with 12 games to play.
