Other teams have already sent their equipment trucks south, but as any Red Sox fan will tell you, the first true sign of spring is when the Red Sox hold their "Truck Day" at Fenway Park. The team even has its own version of Punxsutawney Phil with 89-year-old Johnny Pesky (above) doing the honors of turning the key in the truck's ignition. Rumble on, Mr. Pesky!
It's hard to believe, but we've made it through baseball's dead period. The Indians' pitchers and catchers will report to Arizona on Thursday and most teams will follow suit on Friday and Saturday. Even though Opening Day is still about two months away, it's hard not to feel like a six-year-old hopped up on Jolt and Pop Rocks, isn't it?
Next week I'll be hunkering down with some top Yahoos! and formulating an attack plan for the upcoming season. As such, posting will be a little less frequent than usual, but this is also your chance to have some input. What would you like to see from the Stew each day? What would you like to see more of? Less of? Any and all constructive criticism will be considered, but please send it to email@example.com.
Anyway, have a weekend dear Stewies! Baseball is definitely closer than it appears.
