Since we're coming up on Labor Day, let us all remember the great Curt Flood, whose courage in challenging baseball's reserve clause later led to the sport's workers actually having a choice in where they plied their trade (and gave them a chance to make a few dollars, too).
No matter what you do this weekend — be it a baseball game, a barbecue or a gridiron matchup at your alma mater — make sure you do it in a fun and safe manner.
Oh, and get plenty of rest for the next two months because we're all going to need it.
We'll be back full-time on Tuesday and until then, make sure you read this great piece about Albert Pujols and the fan who fell onto the field in Pittsburgh last month.
It might just be the best thing you read all season.
