He doesn't have quite 20 posts as of Friday morning, and at least three of them are of gym shoes (although many of you are into that), but Ken Griffey's new Instagram account looks like a must-follow for you nostalgia fans.
Griffey's fashion and hair choices probably seemed edgy or even mainstream in 1987, but they look darned funny now. We could title the photo above, "He's the rapper, I'm the ballplayer."

There are some other good shots, like Griffey escorting his mom to throw the first pitch at the Kingdome, and one of him in a Bellingham (Wash.) Mariners uniform. That was his first professional team. He had an OPS of 1.049 at age 17.
As for Instagram, we probably can expect lots of youth football scenes, shots of Griffey flying in small aircraft and more shoes. He's The Kid! But does he have this photo in his collection?
