Atlanta Braves summon a moth to help in Alex Gordon’s crucial ninth-inning at-bat

It was a crucial moment on Tuesday night: The bottom of the ninth of a 4-3 game, with runners at second and third and two outs. Alex Gordon was up to bat for the Kansas City Royals with a chance to tie or win the game.

That's a situation when a team relies on its closer. And the opposing Atlanta Braves did just that. They've got a good one, after all, in Craig Kimbrel. But the Braves also got some help of the insect variety — from a moth!

Watch as this moth, obviously a Braves fan, goes right after Alex Gordon's face. Have you no decency, Mr. Moth? Professionals were trying to play a game!

Luckily, Big League Stew has obtained a bigger picture of the moth in question so other teams and players can watch out for him.

For what it's worth: Alex Gordon ended up walking intentionally. Then Alcides Escobar hit a fly out to end the game. He probably was scared of another moth attack.
