Beyonce is arguably the biggest name in pop music. Zach Hodskins is, well, until the last two months, he was a virtual unknown. Precisely who is inspiring who might be a surprise to most of the world.
Now that has all changed, as the one-handed basketball star has gained both internet fame and legitimate accolades for his ability to overcome his limitations and reach his goals.
The largest of those goals was officially met over the weekend, when Hodskins committed to play basketball at the University of Florida. As first reported by Prep Rally, that commitment came despite interest from Kentucky and legendary coach John Calipari himself.
As it turns out, and was belatedly popularized by the Sporting News, it turns out that Beyonce, recording artist extraordinaire, wife to Jay-Z and mother to Blue Ivy, actually caught wind of Hodskins' talent just before his commitment. Once she found out about him, Beyonce wasted little time in offering her own bona fides to his inspirational tale.
"Zach, you are a true inspiration," Beyonce posted on her official website, just above a photo of the teen holding a basketball just in front of a faded background photo featuring him making a layup.

Add the Beyonce endorsement to Hodskins' Florida commitment and you get one very big week for the senior at the Milton School in Alpharetta, Ga. The shooting guard has plenty of work to do, but we now know that he'll get a chance at the next level.
Now we all know one person who'll be rooting for him from afar.
