Manteca, Calif., may have just one-upped Maryland. And not in a good way. Crabcakes and football ... and punching women in the face. That, allegedly, is what Manteca does.

During a popular annual crab feed in the North California city, two Manteca High junior varsity football coaches were arrested for allegedly instigating a fight that broke out over a take-out bag, according to the Manteca Bulletin.

According to a police report obtained by the paper, Sean Hogan, 38, took a seat on a take-out bag that had been placed on the curb and subsequently apologized to the woman to whom it belonged, attempting to hug her in the process. Then, allegedly, the woman pushed Hogan, who began throwing punches when her husband intervened, prompting the woman to throw her cell phone at Hogan, who subsequently punched her in the face.

Joshua Farris, 31, who serves as an assistant coach under Hogan on Manteca's sophomore football team, allegedly also tried to intervene. You may have already deduced that police suggested alcohol "seemed to play a major role in the incident," according to the Manteca Bulletin. Hogan now faces battery charges and Farris was booked for public intoxication.

As the saying goes, good things never happen to those who sit on crab feed take-out bags.
