Forget the fine games turned in by the best in the NCAA and NFL over the weekend. A quarterback in Texas blew them all away.

As reported by the Corpus Christi Caller Times, Refugio (Texas) High quarterback Travis Quintanilla threw for an incredible 10 touchdowns during his team's 80-0 thrashing of overmatched Taft (Texas) High. The 10 scoring passes were good for a state record, passing the previous mark of nine, which was set just a year ago by Fort Worth (Texas) Southwest High quarterback Wesley Harris.

Making Quintanilla's achievement all the more impressive is the remarkable efficiency with which he reached those 10 touchdowns. The junior threw just 15 passes in the victory, but he completed 13 of them. Almost unbelievably, 10 of those 13 completions ended in the end zone.

Quintanilla racked up 383 yards through the air and completed touchdown passes to four different receivers, though one -- Marcus Thompson -- caught four touchdown passes to lead the way (incidentally, every one of his receptions was for a touchdown).

No video from Quintanilla's incredible performance has emerged as of yet, but you can see the passer in action during the 2011 Texas Class 2A state title game above.

Some might question Refugio's choice to keep Quintanilla in the game in the midst of a blowout, but the quarterback's relative paucity of pass attempts -- particularly considering the final score -- speaks to the fact that Refugio really did make an effort to run the ball. Then again, Friday's final score isn't the first blowout that Refugio has been a part of; the school received national attention for its one-sided victories in 2011, too.

Naturally, those efforts were overshadowed by Quintanilla's huge night through the air, with the junior setting marks that few would consider easily reachable at any point in the future.
