SoCal receiver’s full-extension grab looks like catch of the week

Looking for the catch of the weekend? Look no further than Southern California, where Encino (Calif.) Carmelito Crespi High wide receiver Aaron Lecombe laid out to pull in one of the great grabs of the early season in a victory against Henderson (Nev.) Liberty High.

The pass you see above was just one of 17 completions tossed by quarterback Cody Cordell on Saturday in Crespi's 42-28 victory. While five of those passes accounted for touchdowns, making them more impactful in the final account of Crespi's win, none were more impressive than Lecombe's full-stretch grab along the left sideline.

Lecombe both stretched to full extension and had a complete rollover to grab Cordell's fade pass, which helped open up the Liberty secondary.

As it turns out, the Celts had plenty of success in the passing game, with Crespi building up a 29-7 lead in the opening stages of the third quarter and never looking back. Lecombe was a significant part of that, finishing with 104 yards on just three catches, one of them a touchdown.

Still, though Lecombe's grab above may not have been his or Crespi's biggest of the night, it was hard to be any more impressive, particularly for a transfer into the school who was competing in just his third game with the Celts.
