Jabrill Peppers, top CB prospect and Michigan recruit, can really throw a block

Too often top football prospects are maligned for not being physical enough, particularly when they play skill positions on offense and in the defensive secondary. Something tells Prep Rally Jabrill Peppers won't be facing that criticism after this video.

Peppers, a senior wide receiver and cornerback at Paramus (N.J.) Paramus Catholic High, is best known for his sheer athleticism and the manner in which he committed to the University of Michigan (he rapped his allegiance). Yet, in Paramus Catholic's first scrimmage of the season, against Richland (N.J.) St. Augustine's Prep, the five-star recruit proved that he could throw a serious block, too.

If you watch the video from the Press of Atlantic City above closely, you'll notice that Peppers found a way to take out not one but two different would be tacklers while blocking on the edge for a sweep. First, he drove the cornerback covering him deep enough into the end zone to keep him from reaching the sideline, then he completed obliterated another would-be tackler on instinct. It's a clean block, and a really strong one.

Paramus Catholic doesn't open its 2013 season until September 9, when it travels to Baltimore to take on the Gilman School. Apparently Peppers is ready to go right now.
