Well, it sounds like the "Ladybugs" franchise just wrote itself another gem. It can't be much worse than "She's the Man." Or can it?

Two high school girls' soccer coaches are out of a job after head coach Narce Hinojos allowed assistant Juany Gonzalez to participate in the regular-season finales for both Arcadia (Fla.) DeSoto County High's varsity and junior varsity teams against Englewood (Fla.) Lemon Bay on Jan. 10, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune (h/t Deadspin).

Gonzalez played for the Bulldogs until she graduated from DeSoto County in 2009.

News of the coach's participation traveled up the chain of command from players to boys' coach Tracy Hay to athletic director Jarrett Zolkos to superintendent Dr. Karyn Gray, according to the Herald-Tribune. Gray self-reported the violation, resulting in a forfeit of the varsity's 2-1 win over Lemon Bay, a $1,000 fine by the Florida High School Athletic Association (never heard of that before) and one year of administrative probation.

“To the best of my knowledge," Gray told the local paper, "it only occurred in the game against Lemon Bay."

Despite a 9-15 record, the Bulldogs were still in action in a Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinal match against Forty Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot on Thursday. Bumper Hay, Tracy's husband, coached the girls; they lost, 6-0. Maybe Gonzalez would've made the difference.

Someone get Amanda Bynes on the phone. This might just be the comeback role she needs.
