For the most part, Chaminade (Mo.) College Prep's basketball highlights have focused on the exploits of uber-star Bradley Beal, a Florida signee. Yet, not even 44 points from the reigning Gatorade Missouri Boys Basketball Player of the Year in an 82-77 victory over O'Fallon (Ill.) High in St. Louis could overshadow one of the year's best buzzer beaters, which happened to be drilled by a Chaminade teammate.
As seen on a handful of different newspaper websites, Chaminade's Luke Bumgarner somehow managed to drill a 75-foot shot at the halftime buzzer during his team's Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout victory. The shot was more than just academic, given Chaminade's eventual five-point margin of victory.
If that isn't the best baseball shot we've seen, it's certainly on the list. Bumgarner not only hit a nearly full-court shot, he had to elevate and put the baseball-style shot on from mid-air.
