Anyone that has ever had the opportunity to play TPC Sawgrass knows what is sitting in the back of their mind even when they arrive on the grounds. It isn't the tee shot on No. 1, or getting around the front nine in a reasonable score. The only shot people care about is that tee shot on the last par-3 on the course.
The 17th at TPC Sawgrass has become such an icon that afternoon rounds on the course can sometimes slow to near snail pace because people on the par-3 are hitting multiple balls in an attempt to keep one dry. During the Players week, caddies have a closest to the pin contest on the 17th, and this week we saw three of the most recognizable golfers on the planet have a little fun on the same hole.
Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson were playing a practice round and all tried to hit it on the island green ... from the opposite side of the ball.
Mickelson went right-handed, while Dustin and Fowler borrowed a club from Phil and hit it lefty.
The word is that Fowler actually hit it within a few feet of the hole with his left-handed shot, and you can hear the result from the second Vine below, courtesy of the Tour Report.
