It appears that being a No. 1 seed in this year's Accenture Match Play means drawing some of the hottest players in Arizona. Luke Donald, the winner of this event in 2011, was up against Scott Piercy in his second round match on Friday at Dove Mountain and while most had Donald advancing, it was Piercy who absolutely rolled the top seed.
Piercy started won his first three holes, and after halving the par-4 4th with Donald, hit this shot you see above from 228 yards that went dead freakin' center at the 5th. Sure, the score will be an eagle, but the hole measured 536 yards, a par-5 by plenty of golfer's standards.
Piercy went on to win his match 7-up on Donald and with Louis Oosthuizen also getting dropped on Friday, there are no remaining No. 1 seeds at the Accenture.
