It took months for Tiger Woods to let us know he was going to be playing the first major championship of the season and only two days after to let us know he'd be a part of the second one of 2010.

Woods officially submitted his entry form to the USGA for the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.

On Monday, United States Golf Association officials confirmed that Woods formally submitted his entry into the championship to be held June 17-20.

All players, even those exempt from qualifying, such as Woods, have to formally apply for entry into the U.S. Open by April 28. Before Monday, Woods' name did not appear on the list of registered entries.

It would be ridiculous to think Tiger would pass up on a chance to dominate another U.S. Open at Pebble like he did in 2000, when he won the dang thing by 15 shots as the only player to finish under par for the week.

Tiger won both events at Pebble in 2000, but has skipped the event since 2002.

What some were worried about after the Masters was that Tiger might take even more time off, but it appears that if the Augusta experiment showed us anything, it is Tiger's game isn't yet to winning quality.

Now, we almost know for sure that Tiger will be back before the U.S. Open to get himself a little more tournament experience. The best chances to get more Tiger will be at the Quail Hollow Championship at the end of April, the Players Championship, May 6-9 or the Memorial in early June.

As of right now, it seems Tiger is taking some time away from the game. Radar Online is reporting that Woods left for some vacation time with the kids, sans Elin, who is reported to have left for Scottsdale, Ariz.
