Stick music: Stadler, Jobe both rattle the pin at the Memorial

Jay Busbee

Here's something you won't see too often: two players in the same pairing both nailing the flagstick. Kevin Stadler and Brandt Jobe did it in the third round of the Memorial, both from about 120 yards out. Problem is, as cool as a stick-rattle looks and sounds, it sends the ball caroming off to heaven-knows-where. (Hunter Mahan lost a shot at a U.S. Open back in 2009 because of that.) But hey, at least these guys know their yardages down to the inch. That's gotta count for something.
