Golf may be you versus the course, but the end result is you versus everyone else. That is why we are starting up Devil Ball Power Rankings, a glimpse at who is currently hot on tour, that will run every three weeks during the PGA Tour season. These are the top ten golfers currently playing, with nothing factoring in except the present golfing world.

1. Steve Stricker: His win at the Northern Trust was convincing, and moved him to second in the world. He's played three tournaments this season, finishing in the top-10 in all of them, including a third at the Sony Open, and has moved into the "no matter the week, he is a favorite" zone.

2. Alex Prugh: The 25-year-old rookie has been eerily consistent in his first full season on tour, making all four of his cuts and finishing in the top-10 the last three weeks. On top of that, Prugh has two top-5s and is ninth on tour in scoring average.

3. Matt Kuchar: He started the season with a third place finish at Kapalua, and followed that up with a tie for second at the Bob Hope. Things slowed at the Northern Trust, but Kuchar was still able to claim a top-20 after a final round 66.

4. Ernie Els: The Big Easy has been sneaky consistent this season, finishing in the top-12 in all his events and posting nine of his 12 rounds in the 60s. If Ernie continues this level of play, we will surely see his first victory since March of 2008.

5. Marc Leishman: Three starts, three cuts, three top-25s, exactly zero rounds north of 71. Leishman closed with a 65 at Riviera to leap up the leaderboard, and the '09 Rookie of the Year is trying his hardest to get ride of that nasty sophomore curse business.

6. Luke Donald: He's one of the few people at the top of the FedEx Cup that look like they could legitimately claim the title if the wrist holds up. Donald's second place finish last week to Stricker was impressive, especially considering the weekend ended with rounds of 66-66.

7. Ryan Palmer: Our Sony Open winner has fallen off since claiming the title in Hawaii, but is still third on the FedEx Cup points list and opened at Riviera with a 68 before rains washed away his hope of a solid second round.

8. Robert Allenby: His year hasn't gone according to plan, but he still racking up high finishes. The current scoring title leader has had his chances, but has had to settle for a second, a tie for ninth and a tie for 27th last week.

9. Ben Crane: Technically, Crane doesn't have a bad finish after his win at Torrey Pines, because Crane withdrew at Riviera after an opening 73. You can't blame the guy from pulling out after all the tough weather, especially after he won, but he does drop a few spots because of the non-finish.

10. Geoff Ogilvy: He only played in the first PGA Tour event of the season, but his 100 percent victory rate keeps him on the list for now.
