Rookie jitters? Not yet. Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed continued their debut Ryder Cup run with another exceptional victory on Saturday morning, this time defeating Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer 5&3.

It was a good enough performance that captain Tom Watson didn't even hesitate to name them to the Saturday afternoon foursome rotation. Watson had decided to keep the rookies on the bench on Friday afternoon, a decision that drew some heat after the U.S. let a lead slip away.

"We're here to do one thing," Reed said when asked about the snub. "Play for Tom Watson and the United States, and get as many points as possible."

On Saturday morning, the rookies let Europe get as far as 2-up before reeling them in by the 9th hole, and then putting away the match in short order after that.

"We fed off each other nicely," Spieth said. "It took us a little longer to get started, but we stayed positive. We knew we had plenty of holes left."

Their reward? A Saturday afternoon matchup with Justin Rose, the hottest player on the course.
